Nestled in the heart of Broughton, Brigg, Broughton Fish Bar is a standout destination for lovers of classic British fish and chips. This beloved takeaway restaurant offers a mouthwatering menu that celebrates traditional tastes with a generous, hearty twist. From their signature large Haddock (£6.80) and Cod (£7.00), to crispy, golden Chips served in cones (£1.70) or as indulgent Cheesy Chips (£4.50), each item is crafted to satisfy even the most discerning cravings.

One cannot talk about Broughton Fish Bar without praising their seafood delights, perfectly battered and fried to a tantalizing crisp. The delicate, flaky fish inside is impressively fresh and full of flavor — customers rave about the sweet, pure white flesh of their Haddock and Cod, a testament to the quality and care taken in preparation. Complemented by freshly cooked, piping hot chips that strike the enviable balance between crispy exterior and fluffy core, every bite bursts with nostalgic comfort.

The menu extends beyond traditional fish and chips to include a diverse range of tempting options such as homemade Fish Cakes (£2.20), crispy Fish Bites (£4.00), and a variety of irresistible fritters—Cheese Onion (£2.20), Pineapple (£2.50), and Spam (£2.20). For poultry lovers, the Chicken Dinner selections offer satisfying portions with choices between quarter and half breast servings paired with chips and a side (£7.00 and £9.00 respectively), delivering warmth and flavor in equal measure.

But the charm of Broughton Fish Bar isn’t just in the food; it’s also in the welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff. Helen Green sums it up perfectly, saying, “If you get the chips right and portions right, you can't go wrong,” capturing the essence of what keeps patrons coming back.

Tried this chip shop last night, had one of the specials- fish/chips/ curry sauce £10.80. It was a well cooked piece of fish, the chips were hot & the curry sauce was tasty. One criticism, which doesn't affect my review score-the lady serving was wearing black, rubber, catering style gloves, yet handled cash & then scooped & served food. Don't let the gloves fool you, they are an illusion of cleanliness. Best practice is to. Not handle cash then food. Or if you do, hand wash in between. Gloves aren't helping to keep anything clean.

First time going and highly highly recommend. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, fish was large and pure white, could actually taste the salt and vinegar and my portion of SMALL chips was huge could easily be classed as a large. Cooked in dripping and tasted incredible- would definitely recommend this chippy and will be returning.

Just moved to the area and trying various food options around the area, nice to find a fish and chip shop open on a Monday night, ordered a large haddock, large chips and curry sauce, really nice it was cooked fresh and the fish was delicious, sweet and crispy batter, great portion size, we shared this between two of us and was plenty. The premises was extremely clean and after eating would not hesitate to recommend this place, will definitely visit again, thanks

Think I just found my perfect chippy! The chips were a perfect combination of crispy and fluffy, fish was thick and white, sauces tasted home made? Portions were huge! We ordered too much not realising how generous they were lol. If you get the chips right and portions right, you can't go wrong. You just gained 6 new customers! Thankyou for our delicious food :)

We called in after a long journey and it was a very pleasant surprise to find such a nicely run chippy, very friendly staff, food was made fresh to order. Everything was steaming hot, fair prices and all round delicious. Will definitely be coming back if we are in the area again.

Went to here as me my wife and son was staying at the Forest Pines hotel nearby. Wanted a change from the posh food so tried here and it stood up to its reputation. Great value, fast service and big portions I can’t recommend this lovely local chippy enough
